Radmore Wood Barn

New Build

PROJECT TYPE: New Build

ARCHITECTURE: BiDesign

PLANNING: Class Q

FLOORING: Inside/Out Tumbled Limestone by Terzetto Stone

SMART HOME: Loxone

OVERVIEW: This project involved the transformation of a disused hay barn and tractor shed into a contemporary family home. BiDesign reconfigured the space, incorporating modern elements while preserving the barn’s rustic look.

The roof is rebuilt from sheet metal with recessed solar panels, providing both power and aesthetics. Cedar cladding adorns most of the external walls, complemented by stone on the pillars and garage. The property boasts two 4m high sliding aluminium doors with flush thresholds, leading off a double-height kitchen and family room connected by a glass walkway.

Inside, Tumbled limestone floors from Terzetto Stone create a seamless transition between indoor and outdoor spaces. An oak and glass staircase adds a touch of elegance to the interior design. The home is equipped with solar batteries, electric roof-lights, an air source heat pump, mechanical ventilation with heat recovery, and cooling systems, all seamlessly controlled by Loxone home automation technology.
