New Build

PROJECT TYPE: New Build

ARCHITECTURE: Neil Boddison Associates

LANDSCAPING: G-Scapes

OVERVIEW: A modern and efficient 5000 square foot family home rebuilt over 15 months on the site of a 1960’s home close to Lichfield centre. The biggest challenge was navigating the steep slope on the site which we cut away to make tiered levels. These tiers were utilised to give a feeling of additional height across a living room that has a level change, a sense we also invoked with a double-height hallway with frameless roof lantern

The building is formed of a superstructure using a combination of black brick with dyed black mortar, concrete block work with a modern silicone-based render system, and cedar cladding. Despite the size of the home, it is very energy efficient with solar panels, home batteries, air source heat pump, mechanical ventilation and heat recovery, air conditioning, underfloor heating on ground and first floors. All bathrooms have wet room showers, whilst the master suite has a fully fitted dressing room and ensuite with steam shower room.

Working with our preferred local landscaping firm, G-Scapes, the garden features a heated outdoor pool with partially glazed wall, whilst a stand-alone building is complete with gym, sauna, and shower room.
